Does Yoga Certification Board offer Yoga Courses?
No, Yoga Certification Board does not conduct any course; Yoga Certification Board only conducts assessment/ examination for Yoga Professionals who are willing to take such assessment for certification of their skills. Mahabodhi Yogpeeth offers Yoga Courses for all Levels of YCB exams.
Who is the issuing authority for the certificates?
Yoga Certification Board (YCB) is the issuing authority for all the Certificates. Yoga Certification Board has been established by Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India under the aegis of Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga with full functional autonomy.
Do I need to clear L-1, L-2 & L-3 exam sequentially?
No. Any Yoga Professional can apply for any level directly. The Yoga Professional should undertake self assessment to decide for the level he/ she want to apply for. Go through the syllabus of all levels for better understanding.

b) Ministry of External Affairs body, the Indian Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR) has recognized the YCB certification and made it as a pre-requisite for foreign deputation for promotion of Yoga.
c) Better job opportunities for Yoga professionals in India and abroad. Visa facilities to the certified Yoga professionals.
d) State Governments are keenly interested to insert this as a requirement for their recruitment drive from time to time – e.g. Government of Haryana
e) Probability of higher employment opportunities in government schools, colleges, Yoga institutions.
f) List of successful candidates will be displayed on AYUSH website for providing exposer and opportunities. This will help the learners in seeking qualified Yoga teachers.
Is the certificate valid in other countries also?
Yes.
I am already a graduate/post-graduates in Yoga, do I needs to get Yoga Certification Board certificate?
Not compulsory, it is up to you.
I am a student of a Yoga Institution; do I have to appear for Yoga Certification Board Exam?
It is upto the candidate to decide. Yoga Certification Board certification is Voluntary certification which is part of the Scheme for Voluntary Certification of Yoga Professionals launched by Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India. If you decide to appear for the Yoga Certification Board certification exam directly through any authorised Exam agency called Personnel Certification Bodies (PrCB) as an open candidate. You can also appear through your Yoga Institution if it is accreditated with Yoga Certification Board.
I had done Yoga course from a Yoga institution before the launch of the programme, can I take exam through the same Yoga Institute?
If you are not student of the Institution at present, you have to appear as an open candidate through authorised Personnel Certification Bodies (PrCB).
What is the validity of the certificate?
5 Years. Initially, the Certificate is valid for 5 years. Before the expiry of the validity period, the certified Yoga Professional has to attend the Continuing Yoga Education Program (CYEP) for its respective level. Based on the assessment in CYEP, the assessment team may recommend the extension of the certificate for life long or may recommend attending another CYEP.
If a certified Yoga professional is unable to attend CYEP, what happens to the certificate?
The Certificate will not be valid after 5 Years. The Yoga Professionals shall have to appear as a fresh candidate for assessment for seeking the Certificate.
For all Levels (L1, L2, and L3), the examination has two stages.
1. Written (theory) Examination: The questions are of multiple-choice questions (MCQ) type for both offline and online exams. In offline exams, the answer sheet will be in form of the Optical Mark Reader (OMR) while in the online exam the software will generate the result. There is no negative marking for the wrong answers.
2. Practical examination: The candidate will be assessed by a panel of 3 examiners.
Passing marks: 70% marks in both written exam (knowledge) and practical (skill) exam for all levels.

i) The written exam shall comprise 60 questions of 1 mark each totaling 60 marks.
ii) The practical shall comprise 140 marks.
Level 2:
Marks Distribution:
i) The written exam shall comprise 60 questions of 1 mark each totaling 60 marks.
ii) The practical shall comprise 140 marks.
Level 3:
Marks Distribution:
i) The written exam shall comprise of 80 questions of 1 mark each totaling 80 marks.
ii) The practical shall comprise 120 marks.
Who can appear for exam for certification of Yoga Professional conducted by Yoga Certification Board ?
Any Yoga professional willing to be certified as Yoga Certification Board certified Yoga Professional can undertake the exams. There is no minimum qualification required for appearing for the exam. Also there is no age limit for YCB Yoga Professional Certification.
Who conducts the exam for Certification of Yoga Professionals?
The exams for Certification of Yoga Professionals are generally conducted by authorised organisations called Personnel Certification Bodies (PrCBs). The list and details of such organisation is available on website. Any organisation not listed on Yoga Certification Board website is not an authorised PrCB. Accreditated Yoga Institutions and Centres will also be authorised to conduct exam for their own students once these Institutions/ centres have completed the process of Accreditation.
What are the exam dates?
Exams are generally conducted on every Saturday and Sunday. The tentative exam schedule is given on the YCB website; interested candidate can select the date and city or online option.
What are the exam centres?
Exams are conducted in any city in India and abroad. Due to Covid 19 problem the exams are being conducted online. Candidates can appear in exam from any place.

How is QCI certification and Yoga Certification Board certification related or different?
Are the QCI Certified Yoga professionals required to take Yoga Certification Board assessment also?
No. The certificates issued by the QCI shall remain valid for the period it was issued. Yoga Certification Board will organise special CYEP for extension/ up-gradation of those certificates. Please refer to CYEP/ Special CYEP for details.
